It looked much worse than it was: New details on Hamilton’s condition after the crash.
BARCELONA – British F1 driver Lewis Hamilton crashed during a preseason private event at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona.
The 40-year-old driver went off track during the second test in the car of his new team, Ferrari.
The Italian team did not comment on the crash as it occurred behind closed doors, but local sources reported that Hamilton is “completely fine” after the incident. Ferrari is conducting a three-day test in Catalonia ahead of the official tests in Bahrain.
Hamilton joined the team after twelve years with Mercedes, and his debut race is scheduled for March 16 at the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne.
